The Spinning Barn, King's Lynn PE32, UK
About the Event
We all love knitting socks don't we? They provide portable and relatively simple projects which result in the most amazingly unique footwear! However we don't always want to use synthetic fibres as we strive for a more sustainable approach to our garments so spinning your own yarns gives you total control over your fibre content.
We shall explore a range of gorgeous natural fibres to create soft but strong yarns using a range of spinning techniques ready for you to knit your perfect pair of socks.
I shall provide all of the fibres you will need for the day. You will need to bring your spinning wheel (in good working order) although some are available to borrow.
Refreshments will be provided all day but please bring your own packed lunch.
NOTE: this workshop is suited to those already relatively proficient in hand spinning and not for absolute beginners. Other more suitable workshops are also advertised on the website so please check those. If you are at all unsure please feel free to get in touch and ask.
BOOKING: Once you have registered your interest I shall forward you a booking form to secure your place.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon.
