About the Event
The style of English Long Draw spinning is a beautiful, relaxing and relatively quick method of spinning yarns. During this workshop you will learn how to choose the best fibre for this method and really learn the best technique for preparing fabulous rolags from which to spin. You will have lots of opportunity to practise the delightful technique to create at least one skein of yarn to take home with you to admire. All equipment and fibre is provided but it is recommended that you bring your own spinning wheel (in good working order please) if you have one. This workshop is also invaluable if you are considering taking the AGWSD Certificate in Hand Spinning ensuring that you fully understand the technique and that you can confidently produce a skein of beautiful woollen long draw yarn.
You may like to book our two day event on 8th & 9th August 2024 which offers both this English Long Draw day and the Worsted Hand Spinning day to truly experience the two definitive methods of spinning to really enhance your spinning possibilities. By booking the two day event you will receive a discount too.
As this is a special event refreshments and a light vegetarian lunch will also be provided so all you have to do is enjoy your day.
