About the Event
The art of hand spinning the finest lace weight yarns is an aspiration of most hand spinners. Such yarns lend themselves to the most precious projects such as wedding or christening shawls which will undoubtedly become family heirlooms. They work equally well for everyday scarves or shawls too making lightweight, floaty but insulating pieces.
On this one day workshop you will spin the softest fibres into beautifully fine yarn using specific techniques which will dispel any myths or concerns you may have. It is a spinning method you will quickly fall in love with.
I supply a range of luxurious fibres to spin your yarn and all necessary equipment. You may choose to bring your own equipment but please ensure that your spinning wheel is in good working order and that you have a minimum of three bobbins.
Refreshments are also provided including home-baked cakes, fresh fruit, biscuits, tea, coffee and herbal teas.
Workshops can be run as often as required by request with a maximum of three attendees to ensure sufficient space and tutor attention.
Upon completing your RSVP I shall forward a booking form to confirm your workshop space. It will give all of the details you will need for the day including payment information. Workshop cost is £85 per person.
I look forward to welcoming you to The Spinning Barn soon.
