Fleece Preparation

British wool must be celebrated and there is so much to choose from, so join me for one of my favourite workshops of the summer months programme.

If you are confused about just how to skirt, scour or prepare your fleeces then this workshop mustn't be missed. We shall explore a wide range of fleeces including longwools, down breeds and everything in between to ensure that you understand the properties of each fleece and the best use for each one.

Although all fleeces are provided you are welcome to bring your own for discussion. You will have the opportunity to try all aspects of sorting and washing a fleece before learning the relevant carding and combing techniques needed for the variety of fibres available to us.
